In many cases, individuals who are feeling ill or who have complications resulting from an injury will schedule an appointment to meet with their personal physician. In other cases, the cause for concern is so serious that it is apparent that a visit to the nearest emergency room is in order. However, there are instances in which the timing does not support either approach. When a person falls ill or is injured outside of traditional medical office hours, immediate assistance may be required. That’s where urgent care comes in as a setting in which a patient can seek care for serious, yet not life-threatening conditions. At Urgent Care Center of South Bay, a team of physicians and support staff is there to address each patient’s concern, regardless of whether it is after business hours or on the weekend.
A wide range of diagnostic tools is used to determine the full scope of a patient’s illness or injury. From imaging technology to rapid result viral testing, there are numerous tools to assist in the diagnostic process. A foundational approach at Urgent Care Center of South Bay is to provide patients with swift medical treatment. The goal is to begin meaningful contact with each patient within 5-10 minutes of arrival and to complete each visit in a timely manner. Diagnostic testing is critical to that process, as it is difficult for a practitioner to determine a course of action until there is a clear idea of the underlying cause that brought the patient in for care. If the diagnostic process reveals a condition that requires care in an emergency room setting, then the staff will assist in coordinating that care and transferring any applicable medical information to the new care provider.
